About DIB (v2.0)

Welcome to the Detroit Institute of Bagels, started by two brothers who united their passion for authentic bagel-making with the vibrant spirit of the Motor City. After a temporary closure during the pandemic, we’ve reopened our doors in a new location just up the road. Now as a Jewish deli and bakery, we continue to serve our much-loved bagels alongside a delicious array of traditional Jewish deli items.

At the heart of our mission is the belief that “We use food as a vehicle to invest in our community, people, and future.” Our commitment to quality, locally-sourced ingredients like Ma Cohen’s smoked fish, and heartfelt service reflects this vision. We aim to be a gathering place and positive experience in everyone’s life no matter where bagel, bread, salad or soup are consumed.
